Reservations in top institutions for scheduled castes ,scheduled tribes ,other backward castes is a hot topic discussed allover in india. I think it had rather become a political affair in a india.
It had now become a compulsory part of election manifesto depicting the vote bank politics in india.Reservations are introduced in India mainly for the welfare of the backward castes in india after the independence by Dr.Ambedkar.This idea was extremely good .The terms and conditions of that reservation policy said that if one member of a aparticular family gets benifit from the reservation that particular family must not get the advantage of reservation next time.
But the situation is opposite.The one who gets the advantage of reservation will not stop he will apply reservation for his family members and there most people belonging to backward castes in india and don't know about the reservations in india.Is this the democracy,fraternity what india calls itself :?:.now a days it has become a subject of political matter.Before the elections the political parties must include in their manifesto about reservations other wise the probability of winning is very less.Firstly when it was introduced it can be according to the constitution it can be prolonged for atmost 2 decades and after that a clear survey has to be made and then extended but the situation is quite opposite.
Because of reservation many of the brilliant students are behind the curtains.For example lets take a look at iit jee cutoff marks and make a clear comparison between them even if they get about 1/3 of the last student who got selected from general category they are able to get through iit.same is the case with other institutions.
